Well I've been shooting with this holga for a few years now and have just been bugging brent to scan my negatives when he can so I never really get to share what I shoot. But I finally got a film scanner for christmas. It's super sick and I've been on a scanning/shooting craze ever since. I'll post a few on here but you can check them all out on my flickr. I just dropped off 3 more rolls to be processed yesterday from a quick trip to gooch/oilville for the day. should be back soon. enjoy.

2nd weirdest kid at j. sarge. in this picture he is giving a presentation on non-sense poetry. he started off the presentation by reciting a lengthy poem, from memory, without a gap or pause. the whole time he recited the poem he acted it out. at one point he spun in a circle and got below a desk.

Well its been like 2 weeks since andrew first asked me to help him with doing this video project thing for his advertising class. We spent a little bit Sunday night filming and ALL DAY Monday filming then got done at 12pm and I went straight home to start importing and editing. Didnt finish until 7:30am.

We had a little premiere last night with some close friends to watch the full HD version on ryan's HD tv. It was fun, everyone so far has loved it. Hope to get some more feedback soon.

Thao last night

AWESOME. Got there at 8pm when the doors open and sat/stood around awkwardly because the only two people that said they would go flaked on me, THANKS. The first two bands that played were the portland chello project and david shultz and the skylines. PCP was pretty sick, just like 3-4 people on chellos killing it. they played the mario theme song and hey yah. then that other david shultz band, meh.then finally after two hours of standing around being super awkward and creepy thao came on and they played the beat song from josh hawkins part in happy medium first. that was probably my favorite song they played, got me so hyped. then towards the end of the song the whole band gathered around the drum set and they all played it at once and made it sound awesome. then they played 6-7 songs I wasnt so familiar with but were so good. then finished it out with the crowd favorite, bag of hammers, thao started out the song freestyle beatboxing on the mic, SOOOO GOOD. after that they invited the first two bands back on for what they like to call "SUPER BAND" It was epic. deffinetly worth the 13 bucks even though i was by myself and didn't have anyone to share the stoke with. oh well, your loss.

Shut Down

So the job I hinted at a few posts ago was a position as concierge at the apple store in short pump. Applied, they contacted me, I had an interview, then got this email. Kind of bummed but at the same time I'm not sure I could handle working there anyway.

Let's Get Mystical

So my friend Kris that rides bmx first showed me the trailer for this video like 2-3 months ago and I got SUPER hyped. It's all HD, filmed with HVX's, lotus adapters, steadycams, external mics ON the riders, 16mm, etc. The dude that filmed/edited the whole thing is Joe Simon and apparently films weddings which justifies already having all this equiptment. So you can watch the trailer to get an idea of what this video is like then it takes roughly 20 minutes to download the entire video. The video runs about 45 minutes(including credits) in which you will keep you glued to your screen. It's the best edited and filmed video I have EVER seen, including skate videos. I have a feeling this is what the chocolate video is going to be like, minus the lotus and 16mm.

Still no solid job and 4 new pairs of shoes right now, 3 of which are just waiting to be worn. I'm starting to feel like a sneaker head, kinda sucks. Anyway, ordered these a week ago figuring I would paint the sides somehow so its not so wild. Ended up using a black permanent marker instead, need to go over the white lines again. Came up with this.

Before:

same green specks/white lines pattern on the other side.

After:


colored the white lines black and kept the specks. really just want to see the 3 stripes.

colored all the white lines minus the stripes of course. kept the green specks. might go back and color in the green specks, not sure yet.



In other news I did have an interview, a few people know where, don't want to mention it unless I get it to keep the competition down.

DJ's Trife Life

Dj's been working on this video I guess for the last 6 months or something and now it's done. He just needss to make copies somehow and find a place to premiere it. It's got sections from Trashville, Memphis, NY, DC, and Richmond. If you have any info on duplicating dvd's you should deffinetly hit him up. The sooner they get made the sonner we can see this junks.
